Carved out of rolling, green terrain and the high pines of the Carolina countryside, Edgewater Golf Club has long been considered one of South Carolina’s hidden gems. Completed in 2008, the award-winning, 18-hole golf course is known as one of the area’s most challenging, most stunning courses.
What’s more, True Homes is now building brand-new homes within the Edgewater community, both on the green and on the shore of Fishing Creek Lake. Of course, whether you’re interested in resort-style living, want to play a round of golf on one of the Carolinas’ greatest courses, or both, this article will help you learn more about Edgewater Golf Club, its amenities, and the greater Edgewater community.
About Edgewater Golf Course

The Edgewater community boasts about 1,900 acres of land. When the land was purchased, the first order of business was building a world-class, 18-hole golf course. Today, the Edgewater course features A1/A4 bentgrass greens and Bermuda fairways, roughs, and tees. The course is open on Monday from 9:30am to dark, Tuesday to Friday from 8:00am to dark, and from 7:30am to dark on the weekends. To guarantee a tee time, book in advance online or over the phone.

The golf course, also open to non-members, is top-ten-rated in the Charlotte Metro area. Known for offering golfers a premium experience without the premium price, Edgewater Gold Club is ideal for golfers across all skill levels. With elevation changes, spectacular scenery, and country-club level service and maintenance, it’s no wonder Charlotte and Columbia-area golfers consider Edgewater one of the region’s best-kept secrets.
Golfers can warm up on the Edgewater driving range or perfect their shots on our 80-yard short game area. The Golf Club also features a clubhouse where golf carts are stored, and a pro shop and snack bar are operated.
Rates vary based on date and time of day, but most 18-hole fees range from $30 to $50. You can view the latest details about Edgewater’s rates here.
The Future of Edgewater Golf Club

True Homes, the same award-winning builder of new homes in the Carolinas, is working on developing a new clubhouse across the street. Once completed, its designers plan for the building to feature a full-service restaurant. Adjacent to the clubhouse will sit an athletic club, tennis and pickleball courts, and more.
Homes in the Edgewater community are brand new and semi-customizable. With five neighborhoods to choose from, residents can build their dream homes on Fishing Creek Lake, wake up every morning to breathtaking views of the golf course, or even choose a lower-maintenance home in The Cottages. Homes are priced from the $200s to the $600s, and there really is something for everyone. And, if you’re a golfer, there’s no better place in the Carolinas to call home.
