True Homes Named a 2021 USA Top Workplace

True Homes was recently named a USA Top Workplace for 2021 in both the national and regional categories. This year’s recognition follows a four-year string of regional Top Workplace awards sponsored by the Charlotte Observer.

The acknowledgement is no surprise to the company’s 301 employees. True Homes’ dynamic culture empowers team members to provide an industry-leading experience for clients, associates and trade partners. Employees work together, encourage each other’s diverse talents, and celebrate successes together.

Though the company is all about building the homes people want in the places they most want to live, its stated principals focus more on people than construction. True Homes lists its four primary values as people, faith, life and sustainability. These values refer not just to the company’s commitment to buyers who move into the homes True Homes constructs, but first and foremost to the people who call the company itself “home.”

Similarly, the vision and mission statements for True Homes are focused on people. The stated vision is, “to provide people the opportunity for more life.” And the mission is, “to be uniquely exceptional in how we relate with our clients, associates, trade partners and stakeholders.” The team builds each home as if they’re building for a friend or family member – something they can do because they treat each other with the same respect.

“We say that our clients have made us one of the Carolinas’ largest homebuilders, and while that’s true, it’s our team members who make our clients happy,” said Mark Boyce, co-founder of True Homes. “Our employees are the ones who listen to our clients, who design and build homes that exceed expectations, and who treat each buyer with kindness. It all starts with a great work atmosphere that supports each team member—and that the team members themselves build. We’re honored to be recognized for that.”

At True Homes, the people are considered the Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA) that sets the firm apart from other homebuilders. True Homes believes “everyone builds the house,” whether it’s company leadership, a designer, a construction worker, or a summer intern,

Top Workplaces awards are based on quantitative employee feedback and are considered the most accurate benchmark for employee satisfaction. Analyzed by Energage, the feedback used to determine this year’s awards was judged against data collected from more than 23 million surveys conducted at over 70,000 organizations.

Awards based on such strong data mean something. Fewer than 3% of eligible organizations earn a Top Workplaces award. As such, the designation is a significant measurement of a workplace’s overall culture and how employees feel about their jobs.
