It’s always fun to write about the amazing floor plans from True Homes, and we’re not supposed to have favorites, but if we had a favorite, The Montcrest might just be it. Part of the Elements Collection from True Homes, The Montcrest features 2 to 6 bedrooms (yes, you read that correctly!), 2-4 baths and between 1,836 – 3,277 square feet of living space, depending on structural options you choose.
So let’s dive into what makes The Montcrest such a great, livable space. First off, The Montcrest is a home for all ages. With virtually all the living space on a single floor, it’s a fabulous plan for aging in place. In other words, no stairs to climb! So many people are thinking of retiring in the Carolinas and looking for new homes for sale in Charlotte, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Greensboro and Charleston. This is a plan that makes it easy to enjoy our Carolina lifestyle at any stage of life.
With our wonderful weather, it’s natural to want to take advantage of the outdoors, and the Montcrest offers both a covered front porch and a covered lanai. What wonderful places to enjoy beautiful spring mornings and crisp fall afternoons!
Another great benefit of The Montcrest is that it has a variety of gathering spaces. We’ve already mentioned the porch and the lanai. The kitchen in The Montcrest features a large island that opens up onto the 18X20 family room. Overall, it’s a wonderful spot for family gatherings, and it’s also so practical for daily living. (Plus, the kitchen features both a walk-in pantry and pantry cabinet. You can never have enough storage space in a kitchen!)
The dining nook is the ideal place for children to sit and do their homework as Mom or Dad fixes a meal or a snack just steps away in the kitchen. Then there’s the dining room. So many of us grew up having Sunday dinner at a grandparent’s house, with the entire family gathered around the dining room table. With The Montcrest, you can continue that tradition at your home.

One of the hallmarks of the Elements Collection is the flexibility of the floorplans and that is so true with The Montcrest. For example, you can opt to eliminate the third bedroom and use it for a sitting room in the master bedroom, making it a truly gracious owner’s retreat. Or you could use the third bedroom as an office.
The dining room can be converted into a study or a bedroom. The garage can be expanded by up to six feet and topped with a bonus room with a powder room or used as an extra bedroom with a full bath.
The master bath has a wonderful walk-in closet and a linen storage closet. As with all True Homes plans, a variety of luxury options are available in the master bath, including a spa-like tiled shower with a built-in seat or a shower with a separate garden tub with a tiled tub surround.
And we haven’t even mentioned the upstairs guest suite option yet. This large private bedroom and bath adjoins a 13X22 loft area. Together, this could be a great space to give an older teen or an adult child some much-needed privacy. It could also be live-in space for a caregiver, accommodations for visiting family, a separate office space, or even an income-producing Airbnb suite.
As with all plans in the Elements Collection, The Montcrest offers up to 20 incredible “extras” as standard, including designer lighting, cabinet crown molding and a ceramic tile backsplash in the kitchen, and 30-year architectural shingles. Designer packages include such desirable features as stainless steel appliances, durable, sustainable wood laminate flooring, specialty lighting, upgraded cabinetry and granite countertops in the kitchen, master bath and powder room — all at an attractive discount. Plus, The Montcrest is built with high-performance materials designed specifically to save you money on your electric bills.
If you are looking at new houses in Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem or Charleston, you know that The Montcrest offers tremendous value, style and quality. Click here to find out which communities feature this plan and where you can visit model homes.
